Shamrock Electric Co., Inc. was founded by the O´Shea brothers, Jack and Bill, in 1957 and has enjoyed steady growth throughout its history. In 2002, Dodge Construction Reports recognized our company as one of the top 50 specialty contractors in the Midwest.

  Shamrock´s first office was located on the north side of Chicago, in the neighborhood where the O´Shea´s grew up. In 1973 we moved to our current headquarters in suburban Elk Grove Village and formed Sedco Ltd. to better serve our residential customers who were part of the residential building boom in the northwest and western suburbs. Shamrock still maintains a Chicago office to better serve our downtown customers.

  As the needs of our customers grew, we formed Shamrock Electric Technologies, which concentrates on providing the latest technology in structured cabling, networks, security and life-safety installations. We have developed our GREEN division to provide systems capable of generating renewable energy for your home or office. We seek to be at the forefront of safety, technology and training in the electrical industry.

  Shamrock continues to be a closely held business, but has grown to have the financial and technical strength necessary to offer complete and dependable services to our wide range of customers. Our projects have varied from the depths of Chicago’s Deep Tunnel to the tallest skyscrapers. We are honored to have been chosen as the exclusive electrical contractor for Del Webb´s Sun City Community in Huntley, and just as honored to be the contractor that Contour Screw of Rolling Meadows has relied upon for the past 15 years for all of its electrical service needs.

  Shamrock is proud to be a leader in industry affairs with employees holding positions with the Electrical Contractors Association, the Chicagoland Construction Safety Council, the American Subcontractors Association, the Electric Association, the Chicago Estimators Association, the Electrical Insurance Trustees, and Underwriter’s Laboratories Electrical Council. We are also signatory to agreements with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers covering six counties in northeastern Illinois and three work classifications.
